Who is selecting your talent?

Question here for Property Industry Bosses and Heads of Internal Recruitment.

Who really is selecting the future talent of the company? Is that person the right person and do they genuinely have the companies best interests at heart?

So the company boss or the Head of Recruitment loves you, you get through to the next stage and that also is exciting and promising. But then you are faced with meeting the final link in the chain – the person you will be reporting to.

Most vivacious, extrovert, career hungry Estate and Letting agents are looking after No.1 and are themselves climbing the career path. However most sales people have elements of insecurity because is a performance driven role, and a level of imposter syndrome.

So what happens when the talent they meet in an interview is seen as potentially better than they are?

In my time as a recruiter you see patterns in companies when you are hiring. You see people failing at final stage interview that you know are right for the business.

So the message that they have been rejected goes up the chain of command and a good person is not hired.

In my role as a specialist Property Industry recruiter and headhunter I see this more than feels comfortable.

Have you as a candidate ever been in a situation where you believe this is what happened to you? As an internal recruiter what steps do you take to ensure this doesn’t happen and is it robust?
